Do you have or have had, a lovely Boss?

My daughters boss has just given her a good sized cheque for the years of service she has given, so there are some really nice bosses knocking around, is yours one?
Would you nominate him/her as Boss of the Year?

when you work for a big company, gestures like that dont happen unless your senior management.

I really miss working for a small company where everyone one is appreciated no matter what they do.

I have had some decent bosses, most of them in fact have been pretty decent. Don't know about Boss of the Year though..... I should get the award for that - I'm very lax with them, am not very good at delegation and rubbish at telling people off. But I make them laugh and am a teamplayer.

I had a lovely boss at BT............I came in one weekend to oversee an office move, and even though I was well paid for it my boss sent a gorgeous bouquet of flowers as an extra thank you.

I like both my bosses in my current job, but then one of them is my brother.

I used to work as a customer service supervisor and the guy that owned the company was loaded. His niece moved over here from NZ and he bought her a car. When she left to go back he called me into his office. I thought I was about to get sacked until he told me that he knew I had some money troubles and he would like to help me a bit by giving me the car. It meant I could sell my own car and keep the one he gave me. I barely ever spoke to the guy and here he was just giving me a car.

My boss has just given me a card and some champers for my birthday, so today he is a good boss. When he shouts at me for not being able to get in because of the snow, then he is not a good boss!

Bosses are not supposed to be "lovely" just efficient in their function and also expert in personal relations. If that includes being "lovely" fine but if it doesn´t...tough.
