Are you extra well-behaved in front of your parents?

Do you swear, smoke, drink, flatulate in front of them?

Or do you watch how you behave?

would never swear infront of my parents, I did call mum a tw@ t once because I thought it was same as twit, I had to run up the stairs backwards when I realised my mistake.
I swear and smoke and drink.I think it's important for your family to know you for who you are. Kids as well. What's the point of pretending you're something you're not?
Flatulate, NoM, that is dreadfully polite :-)

lol. I called my sister a "bitch" when I was about 14. My mother chased me round the dining table for about 10 minutes before I managed to lock myself in the bathroom.
I do everything apart from smoke (sore point with my dad so I respect that). Otherwise, they know I'll tell it like it is. Or as mum says "BM will call a spade a spade and then hit you with it". Although if I swear in front of my octogenarian grandparents, my mother chastises me like I am 4. So the system works.
I was from a generation who didn't do any of the above
I don't smoke and I never have occasion to drink in front of my mother. But I do swear at her and I do fart in front of her. When it's what your parents have always done in front of you, then you tend to not worry about doing it in front of them.

My cousin, on the other hand, would never dream of farting in the presence of his mother or, for that matter, in front of me. They're not 'posh' by a long way. They just have a mutual respect that I was never taught.
I only have one quasi-parent alive and since my MIL drinks, smokes and (poor woman) has a digestive condition, she does it, so we can too.
Why would you want to be something you're not in front of the people who you love the most? I don't understand that
my cousins are totally different, swear at my nan all the time its disgusting.
they never did it infront of me maizie so I suppose I have gone on from there
I don't have a Nan, and I doubt very much I would have sworn in front of her...but then I was scared of her... so thats not very good either
I was never scared of my parents, I loved them to death, my dad was strict but in a nice way, probably because he was in the RAF
Swearing in front of, is one thing - swearing at, another entirely.
I have no parents now but as the years went by I would smoke and drink in front of them - they did too, in moderation. Swearing was not deemed to be very clever in my family. I am just off to look up the definition of the 'f' word (;-))
Bobbisox and myself were obviously brought up the same way, probably as we are from the North-East where respect is shown.
We never heard swearing ever in my parents' house, except my father used to say bu$$er, but we kids never knew what it meant, only that it was wrong to say it.
I show respect to my parents...but I'm honest with them, they see me as everyone else around me does...plus my mum swears like a trooper anyway
oh-oh ever, a new thread altogether could stem from that..lol
who can blame her mazie? ♥♥♥
Well it's true, bobbi, isn't it. I don't even swear in front of any of my family, even now at my age,and they never swear in front of me either, btw,I am no prude and can swear with the best of them when I am out with the Lads.!!
