my friend text me on friday to say she had left her husband and had gone into a refuge, with some of her things she managed to get out of the house, but no job, no money and had to get a crisis loan. im so worried about her. is there a light at the end of the tunnel for her? anyone been here done it and got through it? i need to give her some hope. do refuges help you to move on financially and housing?

yes, as a child I have lived in several refuges, they will look after her and while she is in their they will look for new accomodation for her, she will probably have to claim benefits, not sure why she needs the crisis loan, I would have saved applying for one of those for when I got my own place if I was her.
there not their.

further to my concerns, my friend's mobile is just an intermittent bleep like its cut off. i know she had an iphone which is costly to run if you are broke. i dont know how to get in touch with her now as shes still in the refuge, any ideas. thought of ringing her husband but unsure about getting him involved. im very very concerned about her.
if you are 'very very concerned' about her. you could go to the Police. You seem to be worried that the fact her phone isnt working indicates something may have happened to her...
You could get in touch with the local police and advise them of the facts and see if they can track her down. Other than that you will have to wait until she makes contact again.
If you know which refuge she is in I would contact the refuge direct if you can find out what their Telephone No is. Whatever you do, do not involve her husband as she is obviously escaping from him.
agree with redman, keep her husband as far away as possible from any news or new information
as Nosha says if you are concerned go to the police as the refuge will not allow contact directly to their address or phone.
She is in safe hands in a refuge, they will look after her and she will get support and advice about getting new housing and benefits. I'm sure she will be in touch with you when she is up to it.
