Sure, why not...?
As could/should any Republican theists.................
If he objected to the Queen's role as head of the Church of England he could, but other than that I can't see any reason why he should unless he's anti-royalist.
Quite so.

As a dedicated anti-royalist, I couldn't care less whether anyone saves the monarch any more than any other person...
What has the National Anthem got to do with atheism?

Would it be fair to suggest that the national anthem does not represent the thoughts, hopes and aspirations of patriotic atheists?
A republican of any creed would not swear allegiance to monarch or sing their praises.

The opening line "God save our gracious Queen...."
> What has the National Anthem got to do with atheism?

<rolls eyes in disbelief>

Er, what's the first line...?
obviously a republican wouldn't sing the anthem......but not all republicans are atheists.....
Of course they do. Not all of them, but most know it is meaningless ritual and go along with it.
I don't see any problem with an atheist being OK with a constitutional monarchy.
Depends how you phrase it : 'God save our gracious Queen..' or 'God ! Save our gracious Queen...' The latter is despairing, addressed to the people, not to a deity, and a Christian might call it blasphemous.

And who said the hypothetical atheist was 'he'? ;-))
oh sorry Mark Rae......how silly am I...........maybe they could go......mmmmm save our gracious queen.......mmmm save our noble queen......mmmm save the queen....
If they were a Rod Steward fan... they could sing...

Rod save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
Rod Save the Queen....

Damn... I should get off the whisky...
I think a lot of atheists would sing along simply out of a sense of national pride and respect for the queen, but go on then, Everton. I'll go along with you. Who's this hypothetical atheist?
I like Rod Stewart. Go NM!
Me too! Much more than Rod Steward... ;-)
Send her Victoria's
Happy and Gloria's
Long to Rain over us...
Rod save the Queen...
God (excuse me) NoM......the whisky is good.......
