Greetings to the Builder, Buildersmate and any clever Aga engineers. My sister's Aga is misbehaving:- even on a setting of less than 1 it is very hot. Is it something she can fix herself or does she need an engineer? TIA

Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about Agas.
I guess it depends how "handy" she is.

There is an "e-book" on serviceing oil fired agas on sale here: http://www.ebooks-on-howto.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19&zenid=1f1bccbdb63e1bc27987c9a601d34234 />
And you can get parts here:

Thank you, Jake-the-peg. Buildersmate, that's the first time you haven't come back with an encyclopaedic answer to a question! Thanks for replying, though. You are still the oracle.
Just seen this Lucca, and since you were kind enough to call........................ if this is the type (oil fired) Aga with a float valve mounted on the left hand side, then it might have been whacked maybe? The float level is critical in regulating the level in the burner. Whatever.......... it needs an engineer to set it up properly. Othwise she'll pay more in fuel consumption than the cost of the engineer.

Thanks, the Builder. Engineer being summoned. You're an oracle, too.
