Child Abuse.

Too often, totally incompetent people gain possession of a helpless baby through impregnation & not having had to pass any competency tests before society throws the helpless infant into the snake pit that constitutes a home & family.
Society has to stop enabling, facilitating & sanctioning the destruction of these children.
I believe mandatory competency testing would save most of these abused & murdered children. Like a gun licence, or drivers licence - so you should need a child licence.

* 6% of children experienced frequent and severe emotional maltreatment during childhood.1

For all those who fail the test see below.
Firstly, enforced sterilisation of all women or men who are unable to financially and emotionally support the children they already have and too stupid to stop adding to the ever increasing population of the underclass but continue to breed because having another baby is simply a lifestyle choice. I guess it beats getting a job.
Secondly, a two tier approach to child abusers, both sexual and physical. First offence = 10 years jail and sterilisation, second offence = capital punishment.

MWB your views are quite radical and a bit like hitlers time get rid of those you dont believe fit societal norms.
People have the right to have a family and at the end of a day a child has been the turning point for some people who may be prohibited under your regime.Abuse does not only occur in the family so how do you gauge for extra familial abuse??
What about those that pass the test and get pregnant??? Do you suggest dening children the right to be brought up by their own family whilst offering support to societys members that struggle. This is like identity theft to children in these circumstances.
Childrens ties to their families run very deep even in the face of adversity and abuse.
Surely it would be better for society to equip people with the skills necessary to parent offering more parenting programmes. I could go on but working with children who are seperated from their natural families I see to clearly the effects

So "Pinktwink", society leaves the child in the "family" home because he/she still loves daddy despite the incest & mummy looking the other way? Or the child says they will just have to not be so naughty, so as not to get thrashed.

The media is full of stories of child abuse, & every time it's discussed - What went wrong, how can we, as a society, prevent this, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. And still nothing that works, is done.

read my thread MWB before misquoting me I did not nor do I propose turning a blind eye to abuse. Removing a child from an abusive home is very tragic albeit necessary. However it is equally possible to get the abusing parent to leave and support the non abusing parent to keep the family and children together which ultimatly is best for them and society. Children also suffer abuse outside the family home as well which you have not addressed.
Nor do i say a paedophile is turned around by having a child . What I said was some of there were instances whereby people deemed unsuitable under your regime due to say drug use etc may and do turn their lives around when a child is brought in to the equation. It is often the straw to break a cycle of previously destructive behaviour.
Children are better off when an abuser is removed from the family home rather than them. Care is as much of a problem as it is a solution. Too often children leave care ill prepared and the cost on society, the tax payer the family and individuals is tremendous.
As i said perhaps it would be more humane to offer help and support.
Besides you havent answered how you propose to implement your ideas. You can not enfore contraception on females besides it is not 100 percent. And at what age would you propose this occur given teenage pregnancies.

No, a so-called child licence? No way.
The society we live in, i.e. an urban, industrialised, technological, consumer society will affect the way families bring up children. More primitive socities (though they had technological and economic drawbacks) didn't have the same problems.
I think we require social planning, but child licensing is not the way.

Obviously many ABers don't like the idea of "a child licence". And the "device under the skin from birth" (for both sexes) as contraception. (The USA use these devices & they work.)
Then what solution, that will actually WORK, can be implemented? Bearing in mind, the soft, touchy feelie, "we must keep the family unit together" ********, doesn't work "enough" either.
I am so sickened by this abuse. Until a workable solution is found, it's continuing.
