looking to go away first week in october,does anyone know which place would be warmest?dont want a long flight as got a baby,thinking portugal,mainland spain or balearics,thanks for any advice.

None of those will be particularly warm in October - the canaries are your best bet for guaranteed sunshine.

I've been to all the locations you mentioned in October and the temperature has been around 70 to 75. The nights will be cooler so you'll need light jackets/cardi's.
Cyprus is still hot in October, and as Ethel says, so are the Canaries.

morocco and tunisia are warm during the day but cooler at night egypt similar but about a 5 hour flight
