i actually do kno 1 girl who doesnt mind using them!i cant stand them!!my mum won one i think i was the only stupid enough to try it!!never again!!waxing is a breeze compare to it!!
Question Author
I agree - and with good results as well - but as with sugaring or depilatory creams, it always seems such long messy job.
I'm dead kinky and stay natural.
i cant stand the pain ... shave or wax better .... or just be very hairy
Question Author
I admire anyone who dares to stay natural, but i personally don't like the look of it.
oh no i could not be hairy :0
ok? I'm a bloke...what's an epilator? and is there a male alternative? (wax, sack and crack)?
Question Author
An epilator's a little device that rips the hairs out from the root as you run it across your skin. A ws&c sounds bad enough. I don't think you'd fancy an epilator doing the job!
I find it hurts for 30 secs and then it goes. My ex was always amazed at how I could do both legs and ermm...my lady garden in minutes. I wouldn't be without mine.

You're the bravest person I've of heard tonight!!!!
Apart from the pain, do they really work? Do they remove the hair from the root or are the hairs cut close to the skin? I am thinking of getting one any recommendations of a particular kind or make?

Thanks guys! Have a great week ahead! :-)
Question Author
No - the hairs are supposed to be ripped out, root and all, but if the device misses a few or just cuts diwn to skin level, then I think it could you leave you feeling stubbly - and sore!
AN epilator will leave you smoother than waxing. It tweezes the hairs from the root, so as long as you are holding it at the right angle it will take the root as well. With waxing it can get the shorter hairs and if you wear trousers or tights you will have uneven growth and even the best waxer wont pluck every little stray one out.
Thanks Ice-Maiden and Goodsoulette! I will get one. Any particular brand-name you recommend?
Question Author
I'm tempted to try again now!
I have the braun silk epille (sp), its got different sized heads for different areas. It comes with an ice pack thingy, you'll need it for a little while and then after a few minutes you'll be able to do long strokes. Stick with it, don't chicken out and you'll be a pro at it. The hairs on your legs arent all the same length and grow at different stages so its normal for it to take a few goes to become super smooth, do it every few days to start with and that should catch everything coming through.
Thanks Goodsoulette! I will get a Braun then.

Still dithering, but it's worth a try. The last time I used one, it made me scream, and left little blood spots where the hairs'd come out! Perhaps they're "kinder" these days.
