I feel 3 requires an in depth answer, Horatio doesnt seem to do a huge amount besides stand funny ,take his glasses on and off and say "here's what i want you do a lot" he also comes out with a one liner and rushes off camera before anyone can answer him back, having said that he is the coolest man in tv and he takes no crap
grissom is a bit of a nerd but very perceptive i feel though his lack of social skills means Horatio has the edge

but grissom has more lab time and has more entomology skills, which as we know are essential, grissom may not be as quick with the one liners but he makes up for it in his pragmatic approach to the case i hand, and he doesn't carry a gun. (he lets sara carry it for him)

there's no doubt grissom is the best scientist but horatio has that street wise advantage he can go down to the level of the criminal and think dirty, plus horatios collegues are awful espcially that blond thing with the squeaky voice and the slightly dopey looking cuban guy, wheras grissom has sarah, stokes, warwick and catherine all of whom could run the show themselves
