Recreational ''druggies''

Do the drug user's that use this site work, drive, have children? And please tell me if i've touched a raw nerve with some of you or you think i'm just being intrusive of your personel life.

I have dabbled with most of the softer stuff but see it as part of growing up. I do them a lot less now. I felt that skunk is the only thing that has had a bad effect on me. Like most things anything in moderation is fine. Most of my friends have done drugs and all have nice homes and jobs etc. However one of my pals suffers from drug induced psychosis and has been sectioned twice and another cant even go to the pub without calling on a bit of sniff. I have not done drugs then driven but have come to work after doing a couple of pills the night before and done a few lines at work before but I work in an industry where drugs are the norm. I dont have any children and would not do drugs around them If I did.
I used to smoke a bit of dope every evening, I still drove a car (but not under the influence) I have 3 children (now grown up with very successfully careers) I made the decision to give it up and haven't touched it since. It wasn't difficult to give up, I never yearned for it or craved it!!
There was no ill affect on my health and despite all your ravings it is still a safer drug than alcohol or tobacco and it didn't lead me into cocaine or heroin, nor would I ever be stupid as to try it.

i smoke weed often. i have a fantastic job in which i've never been off sick/late/been in a bad mood. i don't mind you asking as i see no problem with it. i would never smoke around children, nor would i smoke it whilst pregnant. i do not drink or smoke cigarettes, and do not smoke weed in front of other other than my husband. i think the term 'druggy' is quite harsh. i smoked 20 cigarettes a day for years, it was only on my 6th or so attempt of quitting that i managed to quit. and i haven't had a cig in 2 years now. so i was addicted! but i am not addicted to weed. if i don't have a joint for a week, a month, whatever... i'm not having a cold sweat and raiding the piggy bank.
The odd spliff ''may'' disapear from your urine in a few days.

I reckon that the majority of user's are unaware of theses facts when either Driving or going to work ie the recreational user on a saturday night believes they are drug free come monday morning for work/driving etc.
The question is, are you users aware?

I have dabbled in most drugs, never anything introvenously (and never will), and never anything like meth or crack. I will continue to occasionally use weed, coke, ecstacy and mushrooms if they cross my path. I rarely seek them out.
I have never driven under the influence of either drink or drugs. I've never been in trouble with the police, never had a fight, care enormously about people and society, and work hard.
I'm a regular managerial office monkey with no kids. If I did have them they would never see me intoxicated, whether it be alcohol or anything else.
I'm certainly not an addict, and in fact haven't bought weed in maybe 3-4 years, even though I have a couple of spliffs in company a month.

Laurence2, I think you will find that most users know more about this stuff than you do, and they also have experience of what they are talking about where as you don't!! you aren't going to make anybody give up or feel guilty so why not get off of this silly little crusade and get on with your own life, its all getting a bit boring!!

Stop trying to justify drug use, the majority of you have just failed a drug screen if you were caught driving or at work.

Maybe with your knowledge then, you could go put it to some use at the world health organisation. Or maybe go and save the Netherlands from their ridiculous laws. Instead of using your incredible knowledge to just make ill informed judgments about other members.
Parents who wont discuss THE FACTS with their children make drugs look glamorous and mysterious. At 14 I would have told my parents I hated the idea of drugs, that they were for losers, yet I was out taking them behind their backs. Bearing in mind you dont realise that occasional users can function as normal human beings I dont think you will be able to tell when your children start getting stoned.

i don't care too much for people who think they know everything when they've either not tried it, or have tried it once and had a bad experience and base it all on that. if i, or anyone else chooses to take drugs on here, then we've made the decision ourselves and have not been forced into it. why is it acceptable for someont to have alcohol for the first time ever, and not knowing their limits - they drink and drink and get extremely drunk. they'll feel like crap in the morning, probably made a tit of themselves, yet i'm sure that they thought it was a bloody good night and would do it all over again. no ones forcing them are they? so thats not a problem, but a joint is highly irresponsible? a little bit of what you fancy does you good. you've not answered my question... what do YOU do for fun?

why have i failed my drugscreen? i don't drive for a start... and my employers have no idea that i smoke weed. why would they if i have been in an intense hard sell atmosphere for two years, and done what is required and more! my customers do not know what i do in my spare time, as i do not know what they do in theirs. so how does weed effect my job? come on, you're on a roll!! (and for the third time, what do you do for fun?)

You obviously have a drug problem if you think i need a ''counsellor. Your the one who smokes weed often, that means your a heavy user which = detectable in your urine for upto a month after stopping.

Just because you have small traces of dope in your system doesn't mean you would be unsafe to work or drive, that is stupid. you don't fail a drink driving test just because there are traces of alcohol in your system.
You really need to find out a bit more about this before you start lecturing. I would never condone drug taking of any kind but lets be real here!!

ok, i didn't say you needed a counsellor. i said you should BECOME one as you obviously like dishing out 'advice' and at least you would get to preach to people who asked you for help. and more importantly, who exactly will be examining my urine? mr loo? would you like me to p!ss in a jiffy bag and send it up to you. you keep going on about urine samples, but i've never had one and would i need to have one? AND... i am not a loner, what gave you that impression? i am happily married with a house of our own, a loving family and friends around. you're preaching is falling on deaf ears.

If your job {if} done a random drug test on you, then it would come back positive, you don't just have to drive a car to fail a drugs test.
Its obvious that your employers don't do this random testing tho i must say that it is becoming more common place in the working enviroment nowadays.
Lets hope your employers join up to random drug testing sooner rather than later.

Wild child?? If you say so, or normal teenager that did well at school. No discipline as a child, hah, well even if that was the case at least I settled down with a good law abiding citizen, never drunk or took illegal drugs, he was just as sanctimonious as you about it, yet behind closed doors to get his frustrations out he was breaking my bones for fun. Jesus and you wonder why people want a joint when people parade their alleged perfection around all the time.
