I was brought up on 60s music, it was surely the best!! then early Elton John and Early Bowie in the 70s Hated punk, I am now 49 and love punk and Eminem, still love the 60s music though.

My era was the 70s a bit of a party animal then, but the 60s music was the best!!
This is one of my all time favs

the sixties was also the birth of the anti-war songs.the wah wah pedal, the vox ac30,watkins rapier and the stratocaster guitars which are still used today, even the valve amp has come back as transistors don't have the same range of sound. the decade of exploration, love and real music.
will we get a new sixties? will there be a new beatles that go straight to number one, play and write songs that are liked by young and old? if you know who they are, let me know and I'll be their manager.
thanks, alf.

the best rock track ever?
discuss
I'm 27 but was bought up with mum's love of Elvis and my older brothers ska music.

Late 70's/early 80's are the best and some of my favourites (not necessarily from those years):

Thin Lizzy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QM-gZFC3Yk
The Jam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whSYTSXm8wo
Blondie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxH2lFI629Y
The Clash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXfaxEaPOjw
Elvis, Madonna, Manics, Mamas and Papas, Bee Gees (Saturday night fever etc). I could go on forever

Hi Megan,
See you got the hang of the kissing thing eh!... we'll have to keep an eye on you....lol
Great music doc, but prefer it on piano....
just always imagine it being played on some tatty old piano in a Wild West saloon...
I also like singing along to this when I`m driving in the early hours...it stops me nodding off, and whoever else is in the van, lol
