my neighbour is pretty good, hes seventy and also does little things without us asking, like putting our wely bin out and he even brings it back when its been emptied.
he even looked aftyer our goldfish and two guinea pigs when we went on holiday, he's a rel treasre.
Mine are nice. One side only moved in about two months ago but they always refer to me by name.

The other side is a guest house but the son of the owner stays there permanently and he's really nice. My Dad knows his Dad and all that...

How about you sleepj ?
cliffsweb - where do you live that you have a bin for your welly boots!!!!

We have really nice next door neighbours on both sides. First time we met them ended up blind drunk dancing on their coffee table and in the garden!!! They only invited us around for a quiet drink to introduce themselves.

Been friends ever since!

New neighbours on our other side they are really nice too but no coffee table moments with them YET!

:o)
Im in the city centre with no garden, never see my neighbours but we all take our turns putting the bins out for each other!

i had really bad neighbours but they moved ,thank god . but have nice neighbour now
All i can say is that i live between two complete knuckle-scraping-along-floor idiots and their partners, both are wife beaters or whatever the politically correct term is(scum bags)and i`m on first name terms with the police coz i call them out so many times.
There is only our cottage and the one next door in a massive field, and our neighbours are great, very quiet, we have BBQs together in the summer, I will never move.
one lot are diamonds ...perfect neighbours ... the other side could drop dead in front of me and I wouldn't bat an eyelid.
I don't have any. Should I pull a :-( face or a :-) face?
Hiya Cyanide, I live next door.
*******
wardy stick with the :-) face
We have lived in 2 different properties. Both the next door neighbours had something in common. When erecting fences on the boundary between us, instead of replacing the fences in their original position grabbed an extra 6 - 12 inches. Is it a coincidence or greed?
We just bought the house next door to renovate, so I reckon we have pretty cushty neighbours on one side !
Other side ok......always bringing us windfall apples or green tomatoes in the summer/autumn......have to admit that most go in the composting bin !!
One side, nice as pie.
Brings our washing in if it starts to rain.
Gives us veg from his garden when he has plenty.
Always stops for a chat.

Other side looks right through me.
Doesn't recognise I exist.

Both sides are elderly, but SO different.
my three ajoining neighbours have lived there 25, 40 and 60 years, so there must be something about the place i live
My Neighbours are lovely, I live in a terrace and all the families have been there since they were built 48 years ago. Ours has been in my boyfriends family since it was built.

The one on the left is fantastic she is always bringing around a homemade fruitcake or something or other for the kids and they get presents from both sides at Christmas and Birthdays.

Its good to know yo can go off somewhere and they will be keeping a close eye on the place. The only thing I would change is the ones on the rights dogs, they howl and bark constantly when they are not home which is a pain.
I married my next door neighbour
Now that's taking neighbourhoodwatch too far!
I have lovely neighbours one side and complete idiots the other. My cats set my burglar alarm off one night (about 9pm) and whilst I appreciate it must have been really really really annoying (and in fact have never used the alarm since) it was completely unnecessary to put a note through my door full of f's and w's and c's. A polite note would have sufficed and would have been met by a polite and genuine apology and a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. They still got an apology (on the basis I will not stoop to that level), but it was extremely threatening and its not as if I did it on purpose!!!! Consequently, my alarm was not on, when someone broke in.
