How did you gain a sister when you got married?
Question Author
because my sister in law is the same as a sister to me! both of them are, thats what im saying. I got what i wished for in the end!

I adored my mother in law, however sadly she died last February, I really miss her :-(

ah, so sorry to hear that b00. we are lucky if we get on as well as can be.
my brother married the most fantastic lady and she is in my top 2 pepple list! i then met my husband and also met my best friend, her being his sister. We are more like sisters than sister in laws. I feel the same about my in-laws and think i am so lucky.
Wow Unrulie, I have got one brother 5 years older than me, I love him dearly, but I always wanted a sister, somebody to talk girly things to. When my brother met his now wife we hit it off the day we met, sometimes i think that we are a little bit too close for his liking because we are best friends, so obviously we talk about everything together. I now do not feel that missing part of my life as I now have a sister who knows everything about me and we share everything. Some of the best days of my life have been with my new Sis

ah orangelady, thats lovely. im glad im not the only one! Sometimes i think my hubby thinks he might as well not be there too! LOL My brothers wife is so great too! she is what i would have picked for hiom if i could have. Maybe its all in the blood of who we get on with! You do hear of so many inlaws who cant stand each other. My first marriage was a bit like that. Worlds apart. It makes all the difference.
i longed for a sister too julie when i was growing up, i have 1 brother and 18 male cousins!!! my sister(in law) has to be the most amazing person i have met. she is one of my closest friends and i love her to pieces. all my cousins are married and i feel like i have a million sisters now!!! we are all really close and i am so lucky to have the family i have.
Oh wow wonderwoman, that is so sweet, Its strange what life dishes out to us, I would say we are blessed, because its not always such a fairytale, you hear so much of brothers marrying and it all goes a bit pete tong
i know...i was always afraid when my bro got married we wouldnt be as close, i cried buckets a week before he got married!!! but my sis in law assured me we would all be just as close if not closer and thats exactly how it is.
I have a sister and we are close but she lives quite far away, but my partner sisters are great theytreat me as one of the family, i am closer to them then he is. I can tell them anything and they are always there for me, I also have lovely sisters -in-law from my three brothers 2 of them are very close so i feel very lucky to have an extended family.

there seems to be a lovely pattern forming here! You do realise, someone is gonna come along in a minute and tell us how much they hate their sis in law!!! lol don't ya just know it.
Oh spurslady, wonderwoman, unrulie, etc do you think that our brothers married because it was us sister doing it for themselves, standing on there own two feet,,,,,,,,, oh too much gin.. tee hee
when my sis got marrried i inherited a brother in law who is a top bloke. he's a great hubby and a good laugh.
then when i got together with the current g/f i found a professionall chef at a local restaraunt who we can wangle cheap top class meals out of.
so i've done ok really.

Now thats what i could do with in the family stevie,, a professional chef, Gordon Ramsay would be a good start!!!!!
dont be starting yourself about the ramsey now unrulie!!!
i havnt seen your msn addy knocking about today.
Question Author
what do you mean? i never post my msn addy. i have yours though ;-)
no fair.
get whiskey to send me yours.xx
Question Author
no worries, just gotta ask! im off to my bed now stevie, have a good night!
you too unrulie. im off (again) in a bit.xx.
i find my family are all fakes.

no-one other than us 5 know each other the same, not even partners of 6 and 15 years.

it really annoys me how secretive and private my family are. slightest thing and its ooh hide it, don't tell.

my sister in law still has no clue who she's married. if she knew she'd be horrified. i feel for her.

i am too open and honest i think, in some ways at least.
