Theres a lot of names I wouldnt call my children. But Im not gonna say them for fear of ABers bein called them. But the obvious celebrity ones spring to mind Apple, Shiloh, moses. And I'm not too keen on babies names that can be used for both genders ie Sam, Robin/Robyn, Toni/Tony

have to agree with u on some of the celebrity names 4getmenot. apple, bluebell, cruz r the ones i dislike the most i think (sorry if i cause offence to anyone that likes these names)

I must say that I really don't like the name Tyler, and I always find it amusing when people double barrel the first and middle names to make a whole new name.

there is a girl round here who called her daughter britney? FFS!!!

I've never liked the names Beatrice or Margaret.

My friend's neighbour's son is called Lucifer - I kid you not.

I wouldn't post the names I really hate because it might upset people. However, I will say I really dislike celebrity names with a vengeance. Britney, Sienna, etc. etc. They will so date the poor kids when they reach adulthood!! I prefer names that are timeless.

ust think of the names that were fashionable when my grandma was born - Ethel, aggie, etc. etc. and then in my mothers generation phyllis, joan, gladys, harold etc: and my own generation Brenda, Sandra, Brian etc. They can all pinpoint your age. I am not saying they are names I hate by the way.

ust = just

i love the name kerina briani

thanks 4getmenot dont u like my name :o) lol!

Sam isn't Biriani a sort of curry!! ;0)

Sami are you joking? It sounds like something from an Indian takeaway menu!

Snap Natalie!!!
Any chav abomination - wayne, sky, britney, tiffany, storm (yes, really - I heard it a few months ago on a 4 or 5 year old: it was accompanied by chav dad saying 'oi storm, cam ere ya ******* little ****') chantelle etc etc etc..............................
Samantha yer. Sam no :-) Sorry

It's a shame that names can put kids into a 'type'. I hesitate to use the word 'class'. Thats why I think good plain old fashioned names like (Katherine, Jane, Sarah, James, Edward, William) are so much better. As they grow up the kids will not automatically be labelled as to their background.

I am trying to be diplomatic here!!!!

Certain names have very negative connotations for some reason: Tyler, Jordan, some of the others listed here.

I often find I don't like one-syllable names, like Guy, Hugh, Ruth, Sue (though I do like Susan).

and oh yeah, a friend told me he knew someone who named their son 'Neo' cos they were Matrix fans. I think that person should be publicly flayed.
I find it funnny when people mention the name Jordan, as I can see exactly where they are coming from but my brother's name is Jordan and he is nearly 21!! I don't think it was Chavvy in 1986 but just extremely uncommon!
Sometimes you can hate a name because you have badmemories of someone with that name. I really hate the name Keith. There is nothing wrong with the name - it just reminds me of the awful smelly boy I sat near at primary school. Likewise I have known a few awful Denises!! Shame really.
what about Eugene :-( poor kid
