yes

you can only drink as much as your stomach will hold - you will either feel very ill or vomit if you keep going once full.

it also dilutes other bodily fluid and can cause problems that way not sure of the ins and outs but it something along those lines

continuing from joko, if you drink too much water your blood and other bodily fluids can become too dilute....not a good idea, as long as you go to the toilet its fine

You can drown from drinking too much water.
I seem to remember a poor yound girl dying a few years back after taking ectasy but the cause of death was actually drinking too much water as a result of the e making her thirsty.
Yes adsathome you can. Two women over the last few years have OD drinking water running the Boston Marathon. And no these were not un-healthy women by any means, they were just trying to stay very hydrated by drinking there fluids at every med stop along the way. Water is most dangerous if you are very dehydrated and you drink to much to fast to hydrated your self again.

Not true Bob...You can OD on water.
i dont think that's going to happy jenny dont be so melodramatic he/she is only asking out of curiosity
Water intoxication or hyponatremia can result in death. the primary cause of hyponatremia is drinking enormous amounts of water, which dilutes the salt in the body to a dangerous level. As the electrolyte levels (as dicussed) get dangerously out of balance, body systems begin to fail and the sufferer exhibits signs of crisis such as diarrhea, over-salivation, stupor, vomiting, muscle tremors, confusion, frequent urination and other general symptoms of illness, and their brain begins to swell. This swelling is called a 'brain edema' or 'cerebral edema' and can lead to brain damage, paralysis, and sometimes death. (Source: Elowid Medical)
right barrel of laughs you are clannad :)
a significant proportion of ecstacy deaths/hospitalisations were actually due to over consumption of water, because the advice given to those taking e was to be careful of dehydration. the result was that folk drank copious amounts of water, and it did actually lead to death and very severe illness in a large number of cases. The advice was then revised towards the mid nineties I think.
Thanks Clanad, I had just read the same thing and was about to copy and post it. So once again adsthaome, Yes, you can drink too much water.

Clanad is correct, there was a woman who died in my county of Leics last year through excess water consumption, the poor 50 year old lady had a mental illness which compelled her to drink water in copious amounts. This resulted in her body being completely depleted of salt, a vital mineral, so resulting in organ failure. The coroner's verdict was accidental death.
So the idea to water and everything else is... Moderation .... To much of anything is bad...
