Great question, but can I add - what does a baby do when it gets itchy & is too young to know how to scratch??

I think scratching is instinctive behaviour when we have an itch Tiggster.

That was quite a good link Clanad, never thought about the theory of scratching making the itch confused. There is nothing better than getting to a itch with your nails!
