I wonder if eating breakfast as early as 6 am would mess up the rest of the day's eating or if it would make the need for more snacks. I am trying to be healthier and not eat lots, but I have to get up early for work and work out. My work days are long, upwards of 10-12 hours, as my job is understaffed, and I have to work from open to close some days.

I have breakfast 6-15 every day with no problem.  Extra snacks can be a piece of fruit if youn need them

When I was working I never ate breakfast. I was up, washed, dressed and out of the house in 5 minutes. I had a sandwich for lunch & a proper evening meal.

It all went to pot when the company opened a subsidised staff restaurant. Then I started having a meal at lunchtime AND a meal at night - too much.

I can't bear to eat as soon as I rise. I get up at 6:45 and have breakfast at 9:30. I'm self-employed though, but even if I wasn't, I'd wait to have breakfast later in the morning.

It's well known that some cafés offer an all day breakfast, so there is no time when it's too early for breakfast. Yours can last all day if you like.

There's a smart restaurant in Vienna with an assorted lavish breakfast menu, the cheapest one on the list is, 'Prisoner's Breakfast  -  1 slice of bread, 1 glass of water & 1 cigarette'.

I declined !

Your own body clock will tell you when ( hungry alarm). They say little and offten is the best?

Being healthy is not about "not eating lots"...its about eating good food when actually hungry. So, have breakfast when your body needs it. As for snacks, some kind of protein is best. Fruit is ok, but not as nutritious as...lets say...a boiled egg. Protein is also better at preventing cravings for less satisfying foods.

nicebloke, in general, it's better to eat enough at a meal so that its satiating and keeps you going until the next meal.

I'm long retired and tend to eat when I'm hungry. No longer an early riser, I could have breakfast at 8.30 or 10 am depending on how I feel. Realise it's very different if you work, but maybe you could prepare something the night before to eat at work when you get peckish?

Pastafreak. Some people can,t eat enough in one sitting, small gut and all that. I can't eat large meals, I've spent many years tell ing my other half not to dish me so much up at once. She on the other hand can eat a large meal, ( hence dishing me the same) and very quickly. So it may suit some but not all, we now cook our own meals as and when we want them. Ageing also tends to alter ones times for eating hence we cook our own ( most times)

I expect it comes with your normal practice. Eat large meals and your stomach will change to accommodate them; stay with small meals and your stomach stays small to accommodate them.

I eat small meals...but I make sure they are nutritionally dense and still filling. Eating little and often doesn't work for me...I'd just eat constantly then. Been there, done that.
