I haven't been enjoying The Archers recently, and am thinking of giving up on it.

Am I alone?

I used to love The Archers. Mikey was a contributor on here and he would make comments. After he passed away I just lost interest and haven't listened since then. Must be 3 if not 4 years ago.

Good old Mikey briefed me on past storylines when I first started listening. I have enjoyed it for years, but the writing seems poor now.
They peaked with Sugar Sugar for me.
I also used to love the Archers. Mikey put me on to how to catch up if I missed an episode, which was rare. Now I routinely don't mind if I miss one and I'll go out and miss it without thinking about it.
I can't get enthralled with most of the younger ones - although today's news about Natalie was good and this is a promising storyline.

There seems to be a trend towards big stories, the slavery thing, now Alice and alcohol, all very P.C. and can we help. It's supposed to be entertainment!

I usually listen on catch up, so I haven't heard today's.

I can't bear Natasha, so hopefully the news is that she's been run over by Ed in a combine harvester.
Going the same way as tv soaps Lost the 'everyday story of countryfolk' that it used to have.
I have continued to listen the Sunday omnibus post Mikey but don't care so much if someone rings me in the middle anymore :-) With the younger characters I've lost who is with who or used to be with who. The Alice story is quite interesting although I have lost patience with her. I also hoped the re-jigged theme for the omnibus was just for Covid when the episodes were different but they've stuck with it and I hate it.

That's it. I finally realised I can't listen any more while listening on catch up today.

I have unsubscribed on BBC Sounds. I'm free.

All they do is throw a rolled up wet towel onto a pile of scrunched up video tape.
