Daughter went for covid booster, but as she'd had a pcr test on Saturday they would not give the booster. She was told she needs to wait a week.
Has anyone else heard of this? What's the reasoning behind it?

Did she have a test because she was feeling unwell?
They dont generally give it if you have had covid recently or if unwell. Was her PCR negative or is she still waiting for a result
Question Author
She had the test due to developing a cough. Negative on Monday and feels fine.
Granted, I postponed my booster when I had a stomach upset.
No idea.
Never heard of such a situation.
She got the negative PCR on Monday this week? When was her booster due to be??
If she already had a negative result I'm not sure why the booster was refused.
// Can I have a booster if I have Covid-19 symptoms? If you have symptoms, you should book a PCR test and self-isolate until you get your results. You should not attend a booster appointment or clinic if you are waiting for your results. You can rearrange your appointment for a later date.//

I am getting very ruly or protocolly after a series of addle-brained threads on AB - to wit - if a govt protocol says X
then do X
and NOT argue the point about X, wonder about the future of the universe, wonder seriously if should do Y, and then as an after thougth chuck in doing Z
Luckily no one understands what I write let alone the idea crosses their mind they should do it
so it is unlikely anyone dies as a result of following my advice
Thanks Peter.... I think.
We're still not sure whether she had her results before the a booster appointment time and whether she told them it were negative
well just as well whack it here rather than other places

100 000 cases proven today - but apparently we wait 14d for the hospital admissions to begin....so that is 4th Jan...

Gauteng - that is South Africa - - - not badly spelt Goring
they say they are past their peak....
PP.

////so it is unlikely anyone dies as a result of following my advice///

Then you haven't given enough people enough advice -;0

what is the science behind it
oh, none
they have done hundreds of thousands of vaccinations and so it is inevitable that some ( or as Kardashian would say a random selection) have had a booster whilst infected
and
they have followed THEM up and - - nothing seems to happen
One of the questions they ask for the jabs, is if you have had any symptoms in the last 7 days. I guess, even if the results are right, she might still have/ had a chest infection, or something similar, I'm sure they are just waiting until her immune system is well again, before they challenge it with a booster.
