Am I the only one who neither loves nor hates England as an entity?
No, probably not
It's ,mainly a left wing thing they always seem date their own country. I have often wondered if it's a UK thing or whether all nations have it.
No, like David Small, i love my country, have worn the uniform and would do so again. But i do reserve the right to point out any shortcomings as and when i see them.
"...most interesting & informed guests..." Surely that's a matter of opinion, Khandro, not a statement of truth.
I like England because we have our Royal family here,we have pomp and ceremony here, thatched cottages beautiful beaches, beautiful places like The Lake District
W.S. Gilbert summed it up nicely in The Mikado:

"The idiot who praises in enthusiastic tone,
Ev'ry century but this and ev'ry country but his own".
I love Britain and that's why I choose to live here, even though I could live elsewhere.

What about you, Khandro?
No, I don’t hate Britain, but I do love Scotland just in the way Bobbie loves * her England*
Well that’s a first AA, we agree on that :0)
"And Peter Whittle's, 'New Culture Forum' channel has some of the most interesting & informed guests around, that is probably why it has more followers even than Sky News."

Which website are these followers on?
Khandro, I did watch some of your clip in order to offer an informed view.

I can see why you like it, people like the presenter like to pretend that they enjoy debate and invite comment.

Then you moan because you don't like the form of the answers you receive.

If you are not willing to have people you admire criticised, don't stick them up to back your own view.
What is odd is that many of the people who present such arguments (having skimmed through the rest if it it appears to be the usual shallow nonsense) and moan about unpatriotic fellow citizens, seem less concerned with some of the people who REALLY hate Britain: some of those people, are seen as patriotic to the same degree, putting their brand of nationalism into practice and skating over the dubious reality of the results. And the further away they are from Britain the more they seem to be forgiven :-)
The biggest seam of unfounded rubbish is the claim that the vast majority of teachers have been left wing who in turn pass thus on to pupils and students. If this were the case 90% of people would now be left wing.
I don't love the UK and I don't hate it...it is the place I was born and where I continue to live...that it really all there is to it. I do not think the royal family are great and I don't think they are dreadful but I do wonder why they exist as an entity. I see no point in them.

people grow up zacs and change their minds, course of life. Being truly left wing would never get us anywhere, the fact is that many unions are very left wing, and the teachers unions are no different.
Not sure what point your trying to make, em. The person making the claim was basically saying that teachers / lecturers had been brainwashed and were therefore brainwashing their students. Although left wing politics appears to have gotten more prevalent in the last couple of decades (which has seen a huge rise in university attendance) , we still have a Conservative Govt demonstrating to me that this isn't the case.
Khandro does tend to gravitate to this side of the political spectrum which predudices his view of the world.
never ceases to amaze me that friends continually vote Labour,
whilst having the lifestyle many could well envy. Home owners, both work, have a cleaning lady, not a maid, lol... both work in high paid jobs, but still the ethos of Labour, given to my friend by her dad, who was a died in the wool Labourite.
you still have to be 18 to vote and i bet you a pound to a penny those that bother to vote, pick Labour.
Your 12.07 post demonstrates real brainwashing, em. Champagne socialists.
