Mum was hospitalised nearly 2 weeks ago with a broken hip (caused by terminal bone cancer)
Its been a bit of a fight to get her home ( Or at least to my sister's where she can be cared for 24/7) Dont understand why the authorities have tried so hard to get her into a care home where she would be seperated from her family in her dying days!! My sister (as her next of kin) and the rest of us werent having it.

Why would anyone want to put their mum in a p1$$ stinking, so called 'care' home for their final days??

Shes been in the 'discharge lounge' since 3 oclock, and still waiting for an ambulance.
Just be glad to see her again sometime tomorrow.

(She just WONT give up)

just because you dont want to, doesn't mean that it's not the right choice for others.
Looking after someone at home is incredibly difficult
And just for the record, not all care homes are as you describe them.

Appriciate that Bednobs,
Just that its my mums worst nightmare.

Personally, I wouldnt mind dying in a care home. Got to die somewhere...
Just not my mums choice.
Hopefully, she'll stay home for Christmas.
Good for your sister! I hope Mum gets all the help she needs. Hope all goes well.
Hope she's soon home.

Good luck with that,
hope all goes well.
Well done all of you. Hope all goes well now for all of you.
Good for you all! Get her home - she's fought for it - and I wish you, your family and her a very happy Christmas.
that's good news, take care xx
hey nailit, did she arrive? everything ok? (hope so!)

Thanks for all of your kind words.

Yes bednobs...this morning!

She was sat in the discharge lounge until 8 oclock
(fare enough, appreciate that they are busy) but then refused to
take her to my sisters as planned as they had her home address down as the drop off. Dont know why as the hospital knew that the plan was to return to my sisters (where she had gone to live), her GP knew and the O.T's knew...they had visited my sisters home the day before to give advice on making living arrangements there upon discharge.
So she was trundled back to the ward until this morning.
Anyway, many thanks for well wishes all,
appriciate it.
Good to hear you've managed to get her back for Xmas.
Best wishes.
So pleased that your Mum is back with her family.
Good to hear that your Mum is in the comfort of your sister's home, and will be well looked after x
Good news, Nailit. I hope Christmas is the best it can be for you all.
