A friend is taking me in her car to the hospital to have my plaster cast removed. Will I have to travel in the boot?

You should be using a minibus type taxi where you can sit in the back. Your post suggests humour but as the husband of someone who has to go work in a hospital every day, I don’t find it at all funny.
I would order yourself a cab, most have screens rather than you sitting closer than 2 metres from someone next to you. Have you tried local GP, although most aren't most open at the moment. They only use a sterilised version of pruning loppers.

My apologies, Zacs-master.
I considered using a taxi but it would cost me £60 return, which I can ill afford.
Roof rack ;)
Apology accepted.
If the cast is on your foot don't use the boot.
Sit in the back. Face away.

You’ll both be fine
Needs must when the devil drives, although that is not a comment on your friend :-)
Well Juniper at your risk, and your drivers, have you checked with your GP?
If you both wear masks and have both been self isolating, you’ve done the best you can.
I suspect you're safer in your friend's car than you would be in the back of any taxi, however long, as any person sitting in there could have left virus on the seat/door handles etc.
Does her car have a roof rack ?
(Fresh air is very healthy.)
One of my three medic relatives is currently recovering from the virus. I believe retaining a sense of humour, in some situations, is essential.
Suggestion from David Small is the best solution .
No it’s NOT!
You can not have symptoms but still be a carrier.
Jesus do people not listen to the messages repeated time after time?

God save us from the (literally) terminally stupid.
Whoa Zacs, no need to be insulting - what do you recommend Juniper does?

Erm....Listen to the advice given out at regular intervals which is understandable by anyone with an ounce of intelligence. My answer was actually to anne supporting David Small as both comments were stultifyingly ignorant.

I’m sorry if you thought I was being ignorant but in the face of such mind numbingly dumb comment I felt I had no choice but to point out the thought pattern which may lead to this situation resulting in someone close to us all.
.....The death of someone close to us all....
I know how hard it is and misinformation doesn't help at all.

Perhaps Juniper, you could phone the unit and ask them what they advise is best.
So you see my perspective, mamya?
