How are they going to carry this out will we all have to carry identity cards and get a prison sentence if we are found having a walk in the park ?

Hoe utterly assuming you are being TD ?
I think 4 months is unreasonable. Maybe it's expectation management.
Just don't make unnecessary journeys, keep others at a distance where you can. Keep hands regularly washed if you do get close to others or touch things others have touched. By summer it should all be over bar the shouting. Should next year produce another wave hopefully there'll be a vaccine by then.
I just hope the people making the regulations are as sensible as you, OG.
Perhaps The Devil isn’t going to get old. Good luck with that one, pal.
Allen, it’s comes to all of us, he’d do well to accept that
It's a pity we can't follow, I believe it's Denmark, where only the elderly are going to the supermarket for an hour first thing in the morning. They are not allowed to overstock but can get their weekly shopping in one go. It would make staying at home for a long time bearable knowing you can shop each week.
Has it been declared what the definition of self isolation is? I can walk my dogs and never see another person so still be self isolate without being stuck in the house
Vulcan we seem to be dragging behind other European countries in containing this virus
As it only applies to 70 year olds then I'm ok at 84 to make my daily trip to the. local in the afternoon. ha ha
I will not be staying in. Just been out earlier for essentials.

Wine and fags.
I’m booked to have a weekend in a log cabin in rural Northumberland going on Friday, 3 of us in a bubbling hot tub :0)
MartinMillar, I agree, I see nothing wrong in occasionally getting into the car and spending a day in total isolation at the coast. A professor I was listening to yesterday emphasised it isn't a windblown virus and can only be passed on by physical contact and sneezing. If we avoid people we should be allowed of the leash.:o)
Bobbisox, room for one more?
Oh Bobby a threesome how exciting.
off the leash.
To those taking objection to what I've said...

That's fine if you're an OAP who can't think for themselves and does whatever you're told and whenever.

Most older lot I know are self thinking and can look after themselves and be self sufficient enough to know what to do and when.

It's a good thing for someone to say they'll do what they want. It means you're not a sheep. I guess if you take objection to that though you jsut want to take objection for the sake of it!

Fine by me.

Do what you're told then. You oldies.
This video has been doing the rounds to explain the government strategy:

It's not bad at explaining the concept. Please note though that the bit about herd immunity is open to question.
The Devil. You write “ Do what you're told then. You oldies.”

Including being frightened?

You prat.
Well said Allen
//Do what you're told then. You oldies//
Rude much?
1957 I was at boarding school and remember the Asian flu pandemic. The school closed to day girls with boarders remaining in school and all were nursed there. I think there were about 3000 deaths in the UK. I do not remember much else but there was probably less air travel then
