I love reading all the chatter but why do some people use proper names of some AB users ,I find it very confusing ?x

I think those who have been on a long time, get to know the real names of Abers and often use them. I think the only name I use is Chris, as it's easier to type than Buenchico.

when i'm reading some post people say( for example )I agree with x and i'm thinking whose x .my poor little brain gets confused x:-)

When I chose my username, Gness remembers how shocked I was when I realised what it said without the first and last letter. It really didn't occur to me at the time. x

It has developed over the past 4-5 years and seems to be the "in thing" among "some" ABers and indicates a modicum of perceived friendship or acceptability. How do they find the "real name?" By extra site emails which is then followed like sheep by other ABers.

Totally unnecessary in my opinion.

BUENCHICO used to put "Chris" at the end of his posts and that's the only time I use a personal name that isn't part of the Username.

My real name was revealed by, i think, my brother - he uses his name in his username. Andrew plus some numbers.

I can understand that it might get confusing

Many sign off with their real name. A bit pointless. Even more pointless is when people sign off with their username.

One aber tickles me by using a proper name endless times.....
I do happen to know the real name of Ducksie and am sometimes tempted to use it.....only because the D and the F are too close together on the keyboard and I type quickly....... :-(

A couple of people use my real name , mainly because it's obvious - and I seem to recall a few real names were revealed on (strangely enough) a thread about user names :-)

Mamya, I know your name although I've always called you Mamya , but I've always been curious to know if it has a meaning?

My name is not Jack, or anything like it, but often when people refer to me they call me "Jack" as it is part of my username.

It possibly looks a bit 'matey' but it isn't....

When my first Grandson was very small and beginning to talk he couldn't say 'Grandma' he began to say 'Mamya' and it stuck.


He's now a six foot sixteen year old.
