Read this on Yahoo News - could it be true?

A Roman Catholic school in Nashville, Tennessee, has removed all Harry Potter books from its library, over concerns that they contain actual spells and curses.

The school's pastor, Reverend Dan Reehill says that he consulted 'exorcists' from both the US and the Vatican before taking the step to remove the books, claiming the spells within could 'conjure evil spirits'.

Local news outlet The Tennessean obtained an email sent by Reehill, explaining: “These books present magic as both good and evil, which is not true, but in fact a clever deception.

“The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text.”

No, not only in Trumpland - much of it far from Trumpland - and this nonsense is not recent. It's been going on for years.

Not Trumpland. My mother, a born again Christian, has been saying it for years.
I have never read a book or seen a film of HP but they do seem to be popular, not seen any evil spirits either.
in true AB tradition, speaking off the top of my head ....

I amazed it is RC - I sort of am one - and can confirm his holiness is NOT anti Harry Potter

schools in amerikee are non denominational - and this is strictly enforced - no religion in schools
( unlike England where the Butler Act 1944 specifically provides for them )

and we dont REALLY have pastors...

other than that - can't see much wrong with it
well - there is one in Nashville TN

Harry potter....contains such things as talking animals, an invisibility cloak, curses, an evil being (Voldemort) etc and its considered evil.

The Bible...contains such things as talking animals (Balaam's ass, Eden's snake), an invisible God, curses (from God himself), an evil being (Satan), etc and its considered good.

Just saying!

PP, Benedict was agin them.
Harry Potter and the Bible.

One of them is a preposterous fantasy about a magic boy fighting bad guys with his friends, performing tricks, and being called the chosen one.

The other has cool message delivering owls in it.
// Pope Benedict is no Harry Potter fan. In 2003, two years before his election, the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger wrote in a letter to a German woman that the Harry Potter books contained “subtle seductions” capable of corrupting young Christians.//

hmm I certainly wont be going to an evening of one liners by this retired pope. has the passage of time made him wiser ?

index librorum redux ....
sorry arcane ancient forrin language joke ... sozza ni

oh mischievous mozzie

Harry Potter and the Bible. one of them has a girl who never seems to get laid, and a fella has a devoted band of followers, who constantly hail and honour him as the anointed one. At the end of the piece they have a final slap up meal

The other has cool horseless carriages and chocolate frogs in it
If Obama was still POTUS would you have said 'Only in Obamaland' ?? Or are you somehow blaming Trump ??
