the reason behind the headline seems quite clear for those who aren't too busy indulging in kneejerk posting to think about it - we get threads about foreigners who kill people but rather few about locals who do so. So does national or racial origin actually matter?

'The sentence is a joke ?'
'Life' with a 28 year tariff !!!. That is pretty much the maximum possible for murder. The actual longest tariff I have seen for a single murder is 32 years . A 'whole life tariff' is only possible for multi murder or killing a police officer to resist arrest.
