Been a tough day today. Mr J2 woke with chest pains (stood there arguing with me and telling me not to fuss as I rang 999). Yes, he has had a heart attack and is now recovering in Scarborough Hospital. Can't praise the emergency services enough.

Next door neighbour saw ambulance and promptly offered to walk dog. Another neighbour has been round and volunteered any help required and so many others, as soon as they heard. I am deluged with love and offers of help. I keep crying with the kindness of them all.

P.S. He's doing fine; I'm told the damage is not huge and we'll find out more tomorrow. The reaction has confirmed my life-long belief in people's goodness. I may, or may not be able to answer much - I'm living on the phone!

Again, thank you all. The keyboard was not co-operating before. A couple of red wines have helped me to relax. I've just rung the hospital and he is comfortable. Specialist will see him again tomorrow morning and make the decision on whether to do an angioplasty a.s.a.p. or let me bring him home for a few days and arrange things. It is all complicated by the fact we are still struggling with dressings for a recent tumour removal (graft is not taking).

As OP - people have been wonderful. The dog is being walked for me by 2 families, another one has taken a shopping list. I hope that this is not just normal in Yorkshire and that the rest of the UK bonds like this in an emergency.

Again, thank you all. xxx
All the best to MrJ2, jourdain. Tough lot us Yorkshire folk.
I think it's nationwide jourdain. We have amazing neighbours here in Scotland. Wishing Mr J2 a good recovery. Hope he's home soon xx
Sorry to hear about Mr J2, people around you can be brilliant at times like this. I know the emergency services are wonderful.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
I wish your husband well, Jourdain. x

Again, thank you all. I am so very weary; so off to bed now. You are kind people out there in AB-land. XXXX to all.
Most people are fundamentally good at heart. It's pleasant and encouraging that you have received such kindnesses. I wish you and your partner well, and that he makes a full recovery.
