My Chest Hurts And I Feel Poorly.

Two weeks before Christmas, I started with a really bad cough, sleepless nights, bouts of uncontrollable coughing, headaches etc etc. Beechams All in One became my Christmas tipple!

A week ago, the coughing began to abate and I do not now have a cough. However, today, my chest really hurts and I have begun to feel poorly.

I have not taken any Beechams for a week. Do I need to go back to it or is it time for a visit to the GP?

Could it have become a chest infection, without a cough?

You can't have a chest infection without a cough.

\\\\ Do I need to go back to it or is it time for a visit to the GP? \\\

Take you Beechams tonight and if you do not feel any better tomorrow morning then see your GP.
Yes, it could be, it happened to me last Winter. Doc prescribed antibiotic which seemed to clear it up.

Thank you both.
I hope you feel better soon, Tilly. OH coughing non stop at the minute, seeing GP tomorrow. It's driving me nuts.
Question Author
Thanks, Sibs.
Mr T has had it as well, although he's much, much worse than me. :-(

He's had man flu and I have had a cold. :-) (According to him)
Sounds correct to me, Yilly.

I have been soldiering on and he has been .......sleeping. Bless!
Hope you both get well soon, Yilly.
Tilly - you must get to the Doc.....

it was pneumonia that nungate had..
Question Author
Thank you, Yont. So do I.
Question Author
Flippin' heck, DTC.
not saying that it is, but don't let your chest fester......
Question Author
I won't DTC. If I don't feel any better in the next few days, I'm off to the GP. Thanks for the concern.
tilly..you are describing exactly how I was....it has not completely cleared with me either, I have been left with a kind of post viral fatigue, feel washed out and tired....but mine kind of went and came back too...get back on the beechams..plenty of fluids, keep warm and rest as much as you can...hope you feel better soon xx
Question Author
Thanks, Minty. We obviously both have the same lurgy. :-(

Beechams, it is.
We're all feeling rubbish here, mother in hospital and is looking healthier and perkier than any of us, mind you the three hour return journey to visit doesn't help!
Question Author
Aww, Sibs. That's a dreadful thing to have happen. I hope you are not visiting every day. Three hours is too much!
No wonder you feel rotten.
sorry to hear that you are under the weather too, Psybbs......take care you gals!
Thanks DTC, I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight and how is the car?
I do read the GMEB thread albeit in the evening!
so do I, the mater is in for blood and urine work on Friday as she may be carrying a wee kidney infection and hence a little doolally...on the other hand, the first set of blood resulted could be a legacy of an infected toe. Better to be sure + a flu jab.

The car was as predicted, the EPC kerknackered and is sitting there ready - a rental for a day - it's cheaper than taxis to out here and back and I have more flexibility - plus emergencies.
