He of "Trapper" fame in the only decent American comedy series, "Mash" and brilliant in the role.

Unbelievably, he was 82....how time flies. RIP

He's barely even in that scene...?

Sad news, I liked his work in MASH.

well it was just a soupconne to show him, jim.....I won't post the tragic one where Hawkeye doesn't get to say farewell to Trapper. Others welcome though.
I suppose ironically it's scenes like that that explain why Trapper left the show -- Wayne Rogers wasn't too pleased about being Hawkeye's sidekick all the time.
Have looked at you tube, but can't find bit I was looking for...
"You have no tonic" has been a saying between my sister and I since it was first on M.A.S.H all those years ago.
It means nothing to anyone else, but Wayne Rogers was a 'Noosh' and his passing is very sad for me. RIP Trapper John...

that's "care for a little tonic?"
Yes, DT, immense thanks for knowing the episode, but the line is cut off the end for some strange reason! Great to see it again. I will forward it to my sister forthwith, with a warning that the golden line is missing.
Sorry, didn't see your second post.
After Hawkeye says, "Care for a little tonic" and rattles his cheeks, Trapper said, "You have no tonic!" in a menacing tone. It was brilliant and I can't imagine why it's missing? Very odd!
Yes sad news. I always liked him and MASH was indeed a stand-out show.
