Have any of you tried yoga? Does it really work? How does it make you feel?

Personal view only but if you are prone to giggles then this is not for you. However hard I tried I failed to visualise my' third eye' in the middle of my forehead - and seeing myself as a rosebud slowly unfolding in the sunshine had me in hysterics.

Again personal view but if exercise and getting fit is what you crave then join a good gym studio or similar  where chatting and laughing are not taboo.

It really relaxed me and destressed me and increased my flexibility!

I love it, I had problems with my shoulder due to underdeveloped back muscles and it has worked a treat with that, as well as increasing flexibility and I generally feel stronger.  You need to commit to it for at least a month before you see small differences, after 6 months at it I can now touch the floor but nothing compared to the others in my class (very tight hamstrings...)

The best thing about my class is that she doesn't do any of the spiritual stuff, it is more of an exercise and strength class, she borrow bits from Pilates too.  We always get the giggles when doing silly poses, it is veyr informal.  I'm moving to london next month and I don't know how I'm going to find a place similar, I really don't want all the meditation rubbish - just the body effects!

I do it and I like it - it's improved my balance and flexibility a lot.  But I agree that the spiritual stuff can be a bit comical.
makes me fart, no joke!!

LOVE YOGA!!!!!!!!!  The best thing I ever took up!

lilyfrog - i totally sympathise - after an embarrassing experience in my class I now don't eat anything for about 4 hours before my class... have to get the balance of not trumping with also not fainting from low blood sugar!
