Mr M has to have an iron infusion next month, will he feel the effects straight away or does it take time?

Depends upon what is the underlying cause for his iron deficiency.

But yes, he should feel the beneficial effect certainly within 48 hours or perhaps less.

Why does he have to wait so long?
My mother had one of those the other week. She felt better the next morning (and I could see she looked better too - more colour in her face)

I guess it's just routine Sqad - he's been found to be aneamic (?) he's had camera's up down and sidewards ;-) to find the cause but no joy. He's diabetic and been told he's got left ventricular dysfunction and kidney problems. Apparently his kidney meds are affected by the aneamia so... if he has the infusion that will help. He has no energy, he's gone from a hard working active man to someone who struggles with everyday tasks.
masma, I think the infusion will make him feel much better in a few days, as opposed to iron tablets which can take ages to work,

Thanks all; fingers crossed he'll feel better soon.
