My O.H. had the thyroid iodine treatment in april. I was the " carer" as they called it, who would take a chance at getting irradiated by close contact.
O.H. is fine, i now have had a pain in the troat for several weeks ( prior to this, and still), a dry mouth during the night. I also have arthiritus pains in ther neck and arms, sometimes wakes me up. Is it possible my throid has now developed a problem, or is it related to wear and tear of the joints, do you think?
Some days its fine for several hours, but during the night its murder, which makes me think it's more bone/muscle related as i am lying down and not keeping my head erect.

the throat pai and dry mouth sound like you are sleeping with your mouth ajar, and the neck and arm pain sound night postural too. If you are worried though then pop to the doc.

Interesting question.

There is only a very slight chance that you have taken some of the radioactivity form your OH which could affect your thyroid gland.....unlikely, but possible.

The symptoms that you describe, could be due to an underactive thyroid affected by rasioactivity......extremely unlikely but possible.

See your GP and explain the situation and he will arrange thyroid blood tests.

hiya squad my love ..how's you ? xx
