Purpose - one month of the booze starting today, a support group to help, cajole, berate any ABers to meet this goal. The benefits being the drying out of the old leather known as the leather and a lack of ethanol in the body helping to lead to weight loss - which can be a couple of pounds a week.

You are welcome to join us and rant away with our grumps and withdrawal symptoms and then become all-saintly and righteous when we get towards the goal.

Any questions? Though sibs and I won't necessarily answer them. Will Sqad contribute on any medically related issues?

Must be pickled.
Surely thats "one month OFF the booze!"
I would love to join but unfortunately I'd be a failure by friday evening.
Im already saintly and righteous ;)
I too am trying this as I onsidered overdosing on laxatives after over indulging for an entire week. Over 10 units consumed each day and god knows how much I drank on Christmas Day/New Years Eve! So I am committed to the cause gents!
I'll drink to that !!
Can I join on Friday. (There are 1.5 bottles of wine that must be finished). With temptation out of the way I will be good for rest of January - with your help.
Can we drink at weekends?

Wonder if the Ed could make this a sticky or something if we get numbers up.....
Question Author
Nope in principle, tilly but if you have too......

I must be half cut, alba, though I am not.
It's AB, DT, it's soaks into one's brain :-D xx
Question Author
yes grasscarp, you can.

I finished with a nice 1995 Langoa Barton, a St Julien and a couple of glasses of a Smith-Woodhouse port.

This is the eighth year I have done this.

Question Author
Now I know, alba. What's the cure for that, a month off AB as well?
i'll do tonight and maybe tomorrow
Bet you can't wait for February
Thanks DT. Will check in for support. Great idea btw.
Question Author
I may go for a wee run into Feb, the objective being a stone off the weight as well, the booze clobbers me on poundage, I must say
i'll join. (after i've finished my nearly empty bottle of blackwoods. this coming friday should see it gone). l just could not bear leaving a couple of drinks left in the bottle. after all it might go off and what a waste of money (good gin) that would be. promise not to open any bottles after that. will that do?
Question Author
yep.....the pubs and booze shops of Cornwall will suffer between us, Lady J. (Though I go for a non-alchie ginger beer to replace the wine/Guinness and occasional beer).
