Went to sweep the wet leaves off our raised decking. Slipped on the top step(of three),bounced down and landed on patio, going over on my ankle. And have pulled shoulder while trying to grab railing the second I started to slip.
Am sure I will be very sore later : (

So all of you please be careful in the gardens/paths - it can be really slippy and dangerous.

Sounds like the kind of thing I would do.

Hope you're okay x
Is the railing OK?
That's my trick too Smow! I hope you're not too sore :( xx
ouch, smow! as my mum always says: 'don't worry, you've got another one'! rub it better.....x
That's why sweeping leaves is a mans job, hope you're not too sore.

Lol, if I left the leaves to Mr Smow we would be knee deeo in them!
Am sore and will have some lovely bruises tomorrow but am ok.
(railing is fine shoota! lol)

You just dont realise how slippy the leaves can get!
Decking should be banned under H&S regulations - it gets like an ice rink.
Ouch!

Glad nothing's broken, Smow.
Shame you weren't a teacher.
Be worth about a million quid, I reckon.
What? Fallen over in her own garden?
Ouch!!!

Mind you, I do understand the perils. I have chicken crap on the patio atm and that is positively lethal stuff - particularly after a bit of rain.
Arnica and Ibuprofen, Smowball.......

Our decking , after it has rained loads, combined with all the leaves on it, just gets exactly like an rink as Hopkirk says. Wont be doing that again in a hurry!
Hope you don't get too sore. Thanks for the reminder!
Smow, it was like that on the roads the other night when I drove back from my friends - much lack of grip on wet leaves.

Have you got some arnica, to put on the bruises?
Poor you smowball x
Never mind ibuprofen. Have a glass of wine! (Medicinal, you understand).
Question Author
Yes I have arnica - may need a bathful of the stuff though!
Am serious. Alcohol is a muscle relaxant.
