A woman I work with went to docs today as she found a lump in her breast. The doc has prescribed tablets (2 a day) for a week. What do you think they've given her? Antibiotics?

I think the lump is painful and she has to go back in 2 weeks if the lump hasn't gone. She is 50. Could it be hormonal? Thanks

My neice had an infection in the lump which turned out to be a harmless cyst. It could the infection causing the pain MissC.
It depends upon the site of the lump.....if it was in the skin, then it could well have been an infected cyst (unlikely) but if it was in the breast tissue, then the doctor must have had good reasons to believe that it was an infective process.

Yes.......it could be hormonal.
I had a breast lump and the Doc prescribed Flucloxacillin, and then lump disappeared thankfully.
