I know of someone who conceived during her period, although the Doctor almost didn't believe her dates as this is very rare!

She was adamant that that was the only time she could have concieved. Her hubby worked on oil rigs and it was his first weekend home in 6 months.  Each to their own!

What do you mean by "periods induced by sex"?

they aren't induced by sex!

There is no time in your cycle when you can be 100% sure that you will or won't concieve.  Even if you have sex when you're actually bleeding you still need to use protection.

you can get pregnant at any time. even if a man doesn't ***, you can still get preg. from pre-ejaculation.and sex doen't induce your period. you probably were ready to start it and you didn't know.

I think what is meant by inducing it is that sometimes when you are due (and i know my exact days etc) that by having sex can bring it on earlier - being aroused / having orgasms seem to bring them on earlier - it defintately happens to me anyway!!

hmm, I think that's very unlikely Goldheart.  I'd imagine that you become aroused or feel hornier (ergh, *hate* that word!) a few days before your period just because of a change in hormones and that's all.  If orgasms and sex changed the menstrual cycle can you imagine how messed up it would be?

no honestly i am a week and early, its happened to me before, maybe its different for some women then others, remember not every one are the same. i still thought it was quite odd but oh well!
I believe that if you are about to start your period, the muscles contracting from an orgasm will cause your period to start, but it would have to be that your period was starting like in a matter of hours...
If your orgasm involved heavy uterine contractions then blood could be expelled before your period is due, but this could only happen a few days early at most, and that bleeding would only last a couple of hours. Your period "proper" would still happen when it was originally due.
