Hello all! I'm not sure this is the right section but I have another question about periods - I gave birth nearly 7wks ago, bled for about 3-3 1/2 wks after giving birth then stopped for week-ish then started bleeding again.

So I'm assuming this second one is a period but it's not very heavy always fresh red blood and has so far lasted nearly three weeks and is showing no signs of stopping, should I be concerned?
My periods used to be much heavier but only lasted about 5 days.

TIA k8

Hi K8,

my first period after baby was very heavy and lasted a whole week.

I would give your HV or your GP a call hun as you had a rough delivery.
After i gave birth to my first child i bleed for about 6weeks off and on, its all ok just your body flshing bad stuff away, But if your in pain worst than a period then see you GP
When I had my baby 7 months ago I bled for about 3 weeks then stopped. A few days later it started again for another couple of weeks, so I spoke to my midwife about it, who told me lochia can be made heavier by increased physical activity, and mine had probably restarted due to my being more active.

If you are concerned give your midwife a call, or visit your GP.
