i came off the pill a year ago after being on it 10yrs. all of a sudden 4 months ago my periods stopped. I have had blood tests which show my hormones are ok and am awaiting ultrasound results. my doctor again asked if i could be pregnant. They did a blood pregnancy test!!!! aswell as me doing home tests.

when you come off the pill can your periods be normal for a while then stop for a while then start again?

this is the only thing the doctor has suggested and i hadn't heard this before

Well, I was on the pill for 12 years, and come off in 2001. Took approx 8 months for them to start, and they were regular for approx 6-8 mths. I seem to get one every 6 wks or so. When they do actually happen, they're quite normal, not too painful, not too heavy. I've had an ultrasound scan (to check for cysts) but nothing was found. I've done a couple of pregnancy test too, and I've definitely not been pregnant.

I worried about it for some time (still feel abit uneasy) but tests have found nothing wrong, so what can I do. I'm a bit old to go back onto it (health risks) so I'm stuck.

Not much help to you I'm afraid - but you're not alone!
