sunburnt/blistered skin...

I've managed to burn my face. Well, to be more specific, my chin and around my mouth.
It burnt on the last day of my holiday and, after applying lots of aftersun, I didn't really give it much more thought.
I then noticed last night it had blistered and, when I woke during the night, saw that these had got bigger and that a few of them had burst (apologies for being gross.)
I woke up this morning and couldn't move my mouth or chin, it was really dry and tight.
I then made the stupid mistake of putting make-up over it, to try and hide it when I had to go out.
I just got back, took the make-up off and it's literally taken away what looks like a layer of skin. Now my chin is red raw and stinging like mad.
There are no blisters, I've obviously burst them all when taking off my make-up.
What can I put on it? I have some E45 in the fridge, would that be any good?

Thanks.

Yepp....E45 is as good as anything.

Maybe try Sudocrem? You would have to put it on at night (or stay indoors!) as it doesn't disappear into your skin but it works! hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. I've just put some on, and it is really stinging. Do you think it will take long to heal?
vaseline. works very well.

I think I'll get my sister to get me some yoghurt, there's no way I can go out looking like this. It looks like I've got a massive case of stubble rash! :-(
I'll leave the E45 on for now, then try the yoghurt.
I did think Sudocream would be good too, but the pharmacist told me it wouldn't be any good. He just tried to sell me a really expensive after-sun and told me to take my make-up off!

Wouldn't Vaseline keep it most though? it's all wet right now, so I was thinking of something that would maybe dry it up? I don't know, I haven't got a clue. All's I know, is it's bloody hurting.

I went away with a friend of mine a few years ago who never wears sun block and never burns but her face was really turned on that trip. She tried all the expensive face creams she keeps in her make up bag and they just made her face sting like hell. I had one of those old fashioned, basic metal tins of Nivea in my washbag and that was the only thing that helped soothe it. She said she didn`t know what she would have done without it. I wouldn`t use anything too oily (like Vasoline) because it tends to fry a bit on hot skin. Sudocrem tends to dry it up but you need to keep the skin a bit moist really or it will be really uncomfortable.
Whoops, meant really burned not really turned!
try vaseline it works a treat

That's the thing... the heat seems to have gone, it's now just a load of burst blisters and sore skin.
The E45 has really helped, actually. I can talk again! :-)
Do I keep putting it on though, or should I leave it to dry out? I am getting prepared for not leaving the house for a good few days.
keep applying.

That's lovely. Thanks :-)

I was supposed to be having friends round tonight, for dinner. I don't think they'll want to be looking at my minging face whilst eating though :-(
i wouldnt let it dry out..... the reason i said vaseline was cos thats what someone i know was recommended by the doc that did her chemical peel..... they both dry skin out so it may work good for sunburn too...

quickly call your mates and tell them its a themed dinner.... you could do arabic and wear one of those little veils that belly dancers wear..... or do american presidents and put a fake tash and beard on and go as him with the big hat

Lol! Thanks for making me laugh safiya! :D
My Mum said I should wear a surgical mask... which was helpful when I was asking her what I should put on it.

I've cancelled the friends coming round. I'm gonna sit infront of the tv instead and wait for this hideous face to calm down a bit.
The E45 is disappearing, so I will stick some vaseline on it then.
Funny you should say that, about the skin peel, 'cause that's what I thought it looked like when I first saw it this morning. Either that or an acid attack!
