Ladies not on HRT - how do you cope. I don't have the mood swings but the hot flushes are embarrassing (especially if I am somewhere where I don't have access to a fan, that's everywhere thats not my house or my desk at work). I have a hen night and a wedding soon and am dreading it.

SAGE is a good help.
Red clover is recommended by quite a lot of people. can get it in any health food shop. eg Holland And Barrett
i didn't find anything that helped with the hot flushes, i just got used to them and worked round them. i stopped wearing socks or tights, wore looser clothes particularly sleeveless tops with a scoop or v neck, and generally tried to keep myself cold as i found being in a warm atmosphere made them a lot worse. i also found that rather than flapping things around to try and fan myself, and getting more anxious, i kept very still and calm and did deep breathing waiting for the flush to pass, and that really helped. the other thing is to try a not make a big deal out of them and rather than feeling embarrassed, just let it wash over you until it subsides. i know they can make you feel very panicky and claustrophobic but if you can try to stay calm it really does help.
what about carrying a mini fan in yur handbag?
