So that I could say I achieved 'something' from the lockdown, I started a parchment tutors course. I passed the introductory level, and the first tutor level. Yesterday I sent away my submission for the level 2 tutor assessment.
If I pass, this means I can teach the whole gamut of parchment craft, not just the basics. It's a beautiful old craft dating back as far as the 14th century I think.
Fingers and toes crossed here.

Thank you Hopkirk, I had to be able to say I had got 'something' from all this sitting around on my derriere. :)
Good Luck. What a lovely thing to study.
Very best of luck F .
Best of luck, ferlew & well done! :-)
Brilliant, Ferlew! Really chuffed for you. Look forward to hearing more....x
That's a great thing to have done - I'm envious of anyone who can do intricate work - my fingers are like bananas and about as dextrous.

I hope you succeed - as I remember you've had a pretty tough year and really deserve something good.

apologies ferlew; sunny-dave - how did the 2nd jab go ?
Best of luck to you.
Looks fascinating- fingers well and truly crossed here, all the best. I'd go cross-eyed if I tried that :-)
My best wishes for your success. Its a beautiful old art.
My ignorance level in this topic is sky high.
Is it making the parchment or is it what you do with the parchment?
Either sounds very challenging - well done
Khandro - I was absolutely exhausted (no energy either mental or physical) for the whole of the first full day after the jab - but an immediate bounce back after a long night's sleep and fine from then on apart from a bit more soreness in the upper arm than from the first jab.
Good luck x
the zoe trial has found thatadverse effects are worse after 2nd pfizer dose and also for people who previously had covid
Moderna jabs for me in Ireland, bednobs (sorry for hi-jack, ferlew)

witha variety of embossing and perforating tools, and the tiniest snips you can imagine, you turn a sheet of parchment paper into what is know as paper lace.
Thanks everyone :)
