Hi,

If you display the symptoms of shingles, such as a rash and blisters, are you still contagious?

Also how long would you normaly be off work?

When my OH had it he wasn't off for that long. Although he was in pain for some time he just carried on as normal with painkillers.

Thanks

Yes.

At least a week and longer if the pain persisted.
A rash itself is not contagious however if one has blisters and they burst then that is contagious I have had Shinges in my head since last November,I had a rash on my forehead but luckily have not had any blisters.I am on Gabapentim for the pain.I am retired but have always carried on as normal.
