Went for one yesterday, just an 'invitation to take up as you've reached that age'

(gee, thanks!)

Anyhoo, since the right breast took 3 attempts to x-ray have since been in discomfort, not in the breast, just the chest area around it and the right shoulder.

I've just strained the muscles a bit, I think.

Has anyone else suffered similarly?

Hurrah - glad to know, alba.
always good to know, but '' still keep an eye on them ''.
It's quite barbaric having one, especially when like I was, hadn't Got enough to squidge,my ribs were always sore afterwards, they don't offer it after a certain age (60 or 65) so haven't had any more
Good news alba, I am pleased for you.
that's good news Albs xx if you need a massage to relieve your chest pains i will step forward to do it xxx
Well done Alba. It's always a worry until you get the results .
mags22, I'm 66 and still have regular mammograms .It's offered to all women up until the age of 70 ( in England ) and is being extended in some areas until you are 73 .Even after that age you can still have one .Your GP is obliged to send you if you ask for one .
My sis had warned me about the pain and discomfort, so I was surprised to find that it wasn't even slightly uncomfortable, and was very quickly over.

I have rather large bazookas - I wonder if that makes the procedure easier to carry out? The nurse didn't have any problem getting me into the correct position.
@ mrs chappie bless xx
It is much easier if you have larger bosoms Mrs C.
I've never had any discomfort :)
Thanks Bernie. (I'm not quite sure what for, but thanks anyway). :o)
Ah, thanks Shaneystar.

Sis is not such a big girl, so that would explain it.
apologies mrs chappie i laughed at your "big bazookas" quote
Ah, the big bazookas.

Well, they're not so big that I can tie 'em in a bow, so I guess I should be thankful for that. :o)
