if you dont have to leave the house or see anyone for a few days and intend not to...do you let yourself go for a few days?, ie, not washing, letting your hair go greasy, not shaving, wearing your pjs all day, no makeup, no deoderant... just letting your body just 'do its own thing'

if so do you think its good for your body to do this occasionally?

to let it do what 'it wants', away from products, detergents, hot water stripping oils, coating your skin in makeup, spraying on aerosols etc etc

just curious

thanks

yes i do. I always wear deodorant though, and brush my teeth - i do live with someone else though
I do this when I am really depressed - but you actually feel better when you force yourself to have a shower.

I don't use make-up and stopped washing y hair each day when I had to give up work. But I really love a hot shower and clean hair.

yes, i think teeth is a health thing...the others do no harm to you
If I definitely knew I would be entirely alone, and not prone to any surprise visitors, yes I would and do. It's really quite nice. And like you said, gives your skin a chance to breathe. (Although I do clean my teeth).
There was a similar thread a few weeks ago-about skipping bathing/showering on occasion.....the consensus was it was ok-and many of us do it.

mind you, im sure 3 days wothout cleaning your teeth wouldnt have any major lasting affects...

how about a week?
I had a bug last week, my skin had broken out in its usually monthly collection of spots, I had huge panda eyes, my hair is fine and gets curly when it needs to be washed - my hair was piled on top of my head like an affro. I had been running a temperature and sweating for Scotland - I was badly needing a shower.

A guy came to the front door to say that there was a gas leak.

He was a nice guy but I looked like something the cat had caught and rejected.

I don't suppose the old yellow nightdress with toothpaste all over the front helped.

;-)
oh yeh....its called it vegging. Though not idle as I can indulge in my hobbies without soiling my work wear.
Nooooo !!

It's all wrong (unless you're laid low by some virulent bug).
No ,no way ..Unless I was really ill .
I could not slob about like that .I admit to be being a bit of a lie in sleeper now that I'm retired but once I'm up I have to have a bath/shower etc and make myself look a bit presentable .
Circumstances lately have forced me up at the crack of dawn and I just couldn't admit people into my home looking like something the cat has brought in and refused to eat .

thats the point shaney, its if you were to not see a soul...
I wear slob-er clothes if I'm not going anywhere, things I don't want to be seen out in! However I do always clean my teeth, particularly since I learned that there is apparently evidence that cleaning your teeth twice a day (and clearing out the bugs) can help to prevent heart disease.
Fat chance of not seeing a soul here lately Joko :)
Nevertheless even if not one soul turned up I would still have to get myself washed and dressed at some stage . I can doss around in my jim jams of a morning but not all day .
Same as shaney, I'm up and showered with my tiara on early every morning. :o)
It's very very rare I don't get out in the day, even if I have nothing to do and no-one to see or am ill, I will try and get out for some fresh air.

As I won't leave the house without showering and washing my hair and everything else, the two kind of go hand in hand.

On the unlikely occasion I didn't leave the house, I'd still have to shower and wash my hair, put deodorant on... else I'd feel grim. Wouldn't bother with makeup though.

Not saying it's right or wrong but that's just how I feel. I woke up later than usual for work once or twice and just had a quick wash or shower without washing my hair but then just felt disgusting all day. It's probably more of a mindset thing.
No, never!!!
funny smell around here...............................
Not shaving is fine, but the rest? No, you must keep your hygiene standards up.
I couldn't veg out in pJs during the day at all. I have to be up, dressed teeth cleaned and washed. Sunday is the only day I don't normally blow dry my hair and put makeup on. Even when I'm feeling ill I've got to feel clean.
