Pic below of a white melamine unit on my kitchen worksurface.

No idea where I got it. Probably Ikea or Argos (definitely not John Lewis).

Anyone help identify it? i.e. What would it be called, where would it have come from?

I want to know so I can investigate getting another, bigger, taller, wider version.

Daft not remembering, but there you go!

Looks as though it might be TV stand with VCR and tapes etc stored underneath
Question Author
Well spotted. It is a TV stand with VCR tapes etc stored underneath.

But to revert, boringly, to my question, what is it called, and where would I have bought it?

I can't Google for "TV stand with VCR tapes etc stored underneath" thing...

Are you seriously telling me you can't investigate getting another, bigger, taller, wider version without knowing what this particular one is called?
Question Author
Fair enough, roy, let's extend the question.

What is it, who sells it, and what would YOU search for?

A
Well I googled TV Unit and loads came up...
Have a look on the Argos site under Furniture/Living Room and scroll through either bookcases and shelving units, CD and DVD holders, and TV stands.

look on amazon for printer stand
The cube storage in Maydup's link looks good.

I searched for 'Countertop storage', go these - not like yours but will provide storage.

Is it because it is such a magnificent piece that you want the exact same make?

Could be a BESTA from Ikea.

Very similar but bigger, taller, wider version.
This looks similar if you want to use it as a tv stand you don't want it to high.

To those who've tried to find something similar... so have I! Hence the question.

To roy, suffering from his usual sarcasm: that's right, roy, I want to put it in a museum, and need something similar to replace it.

(But still nobody recognises it! Someone else MUST have bought the same thing, five, ten years back, surely). (No, not you roy, you're taste is far too highbrow for a bit of melamine on your kitchen worktop).

What do you plan on using your new bigger, taller, wider version for allen?

Its just that TV stands chance in fashion and it might not be possible to find the exact same thing again in a larger version. Instead its worth searching for the purpose you intend for the new unit.

Shelving unit, bookcase, for example.
To be fair I don't think you made it clear you wanted the exact same thing (and not sure why..). This one from dunelm is not dissimilar, if a bit more stylish.

Yours does look quite basic and has probably been superseded as style moves on.
I would suggest, seeing as how melamine panels are readily available in B&Q, that you design what you want and get a local carpenter to make it.
