The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Are the next two as good, better or not so good?

As good.
Not sure about the books, I discovered the films before them... which were fantastic!
agree, as good but complicated
i have all 3, but couldnt get passed the first one, :(
I found them all quite good.
Worth reading the full trilogy. All have their moments :)
I got through the first but can't do skawegian lit at all.
not my cup of tea, something was missing imo
Mr Jaynethepain says both better than the first and you must watch the films (the ones with subtitles) as they are very true to the books & brilliant!
Brilliant - all three.
Have the original tv series shown in Sweden ? ...but not watched yet..it's been dubbed into English..that came before the film's I think..looks quite dark....
it's not a tv series mm
Just as good - the tension rises. You must read them all, you'll not be disappointed.
Second one is pretty dull, third one is ok. But I don't think any of them are that amazing to be honest.
bednobs, it was a tv series - the blu-ray boxset (which i have) includes all six episodes (each about an hour-and-a-half long) which were edited down in pairs to feature film length.
The Swedish film of this is on film 4 tonight round about 11pm.
I've read all three books and seen this film. I agree with china, overly hyped I think although I enjoyed the film better than the book.
Hard going . I think they've become a cult read .
There are much better Nordic Noir writers out there .
Definitely Shaney :c)

The books were actually written with misogyny in mind, not to necessarily be a crime series exactly, the author died long before they became famous but I gather he was quite a good journalist and apparently one the things he was very anti was misogyny which is how the books came about. Something like that anyway, I remember watching a doc about this and other nordic noirs, was pretty good :c)
I absolutely loved all of them. I think the first one stands on it's own as a great whodunit, but you must read it before you read the others. I love them so much I have read them all four times, and will definitely read them again before long. Lisbeth Salander is my favourite literary heroine.
I read the first book but found the sex/violence just too much for me.
