Why was the ENTIRE thread pulled ?

AFAIK there were only one or two posts that may have contradicted the rules.
I don't understand why any of the VERY FEW posts that could have neen seen as offensive were not simply removed, leaving the rest of this well meaning and topical thread active.

Mystified.

So let me get this straight...

A thread which deteriorated into mud slinging (didn't actually see it) was pulled, and now a thread asking why it was pulled is going the same direction?

Excellent!

....aaaanyway so, two minutes of silence - who's doing it ?

I will be not just for those lost - I will also be meditating on world peace and an end to all wars.
Question Author
I hope not Boo - I'm not playing the game.
In the best traditions of AB, Answerprancer should provide proof!
I'll try AP, however I'm at work, so I'm hoping we'll stop the tills for those 2 minutes. If they don't, then i'll have no choice but to talk :-(
Who thinks B00 would be looking EXACTLY like her avatar right about now?

lol x
indeed as you reflect about reconciliation, an apology for being so rude may be welcome Answerprancer
As it happens Naz, I am ;-)
hehe ... just a thought, if you need those 2 mins and you're stuck on a till ... can't you fake a pee-break?
Question Author
Ok then DT - hug ?
'where is China by the way? '

^^ Right here, thanks for asking, it's nice to be missed....;0)
a big huggie......xx
That's great AP and DT. Don't like to see fights on here.
a few abers being rude........................and the whole thread removed, just what would be a suitable topic ?is it back to the safety of "what did you have for dinner " again,
that subject isnt even safe annasasquith - we will see a meat versus veg debate break out - last night the slaughterites vs treehuggers were debating halal and jewish techniques vs western techniques versus veggies.......
I have been away from the computer for a few hours and did not see the pulled thread.

But - I can't really see how anybody could start a verbal war over the Armistice Day.

??
Question Author
Well Wolf, I suppose it could be a sensitive subject to some.
The OP was a suggestion that 2 minutes of non-posting could be observed here on AB in respect of Armistice day.
Come on, AP.

It was the insults regarding poppies/drugs, etc.........that threw the thread off-course.
Nothing to do with the Armistice.
Question Author
Maybe so Jack, but the bulk of the thread was well meaning and there's no reason it couldn't have been put back on track IMO.
Well your O obviously didn't count for much............ttfn has explained that she asked for it to be removed.
