They are to me.!!

I do dislike it when some ABers make bold blunt statements which are intended to have a razor's edge; but are unaccompanied by any facts in support of their views. I have in mind singular replies such as...'Nonsense', 'Rubbish', 'Bunkum', 'Crap', etc:.

Consequently, I suggest that we all (myself included) endeavour to refrain from such 'off the cuff ' remarks.

Good luck with that...
Utter nonsense! ;oP (Sorry, couldn't resist).

I think 'nonsense' is a perfectly acceptable answer to some posts on here provided you give a reason why you think it's nonsense... I mean, we can report someone for sheer stupidity so I think 'nonsense' is a valid claim.
What a load of old tosh.....:0)

( sorry, Ron.....pulling your leg too, matey )
hmm, if people wer elimited to posting about things they know about, or things that can be proved, this site would be dead
Ron, people say things 'tongue-in-cheek' on here sometimes. Don't take everything you read here serious.
But I like a bit of gobbledegook every now and then.

Hey...This could turn into a lot of old cobblers... So far it hasn't.

I think China Doll is on my wavelength......"give a reason why....".

bednobs and society.....I agree with you both....Sometimes I post things with 'tongue-in-cheek' but I do try to back-up my statements with facts (even if they are suspect.!!)

tiggerblue.....I don't mind gobbledegook...Looks as if I am now going in that direction.!!!

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

its one of those things that winds me up, not particularly on here but in real life when people make unsubstantiated statements. When I was at work, if someone did it, I would always call them on it and ask for proof...this tended to be about elf and safety and loler (manual handling of loads and people) regs, but also matters of employment law/contractual agreement....and if you want to really yank my chain, tell me I am wrong when I am right lol.

the other thing that you notice on TV is that people will say "everyone thinks" everyone agrees" "no one wants" Who died and made them spokesperson for us all?

G'day Hopkirk......Very interesting statistic. However, you have not cast your vote which could increase or decrease the figure of 76% . :-) In the meanwhile, I sincerely thank all who have contributed to this thread and welcome any further comments which ABers may wish to make on the matter.
