I'm looking for the question about weather conditions from all over.  Has it been banned and if so how petty. I was interested in the different answers.  If it's still here somewhere - please point me at it. Thanx.

Thank you neti - yes my weather question was indeed banned yesterday!

I thought it would be interesting to see what the weather was like in other AB users vicinities, but the AB Ed obviusly didn't think it warranted the space on here - never mind, worse things happen at sea!

P.S. I see this question has been reported neti as the 'Report this Question' heading has disappeared! Someone must have the hump with us! -x-

Dear Netibiza,

For some time we have allowed more chatty threads to be tolerated within the AB Suggestions category and attempted to keep other categories clean of such Q&A's.  Smudge's question was removed due in part to its chatty nature and becuase it was within a specific category. Moving forward we have decided to create a specific category for more conversational type threads and will launch this in the next week.  Details will be posted on the homepage when it becomes available.

Thanks, AB Ed.

Ed thank you so much - it's really appreciated.  I think you will have made a lot of people very happy. By the way Ed you have spelled Because wrong.  Please write it 100 times.  Bless you.

Questions about weather seem like classic cases for removal! Perfectly fair enquiries - but 24 hours later, completely meaningless because the weather will have changed. (Well, British weather will have.)

Does anyone really truly want these chattier threads left on the site forever so their grandchildren can think 'My, look at what the Manchester weather was up to on 25/05/05' and 'Golly, Mr X was having bunion troubles 37 years ago'? I say leave them on the site for a few days then into the bin with them!

AB Ed  you are wonderful!  I bet the new category will be the most popular on the site.  Have a lovely bank holiday.  Hopefully the weekend problems that arise will be minimal and you won't have to tear your hair out on Tuesday. x

AB Ed - I'm sorry but I do not understand?

The comments in your pink box are a complete contradiction in itself! On the one hand you say: "For some time we have allowed more chatty threads to be tolerated within the AB suggestions category and attempted to keep other categories clean of such Q&A's".

You then say, " Smudge's question was removed due in part to its chatty nature and because it was within a specific category"

I asked a valid question in Home & Garden on the Weather - my question received answers from AB users telling of the weather in their vicinities across the world. There were no chatty replies as such - unlike some that have been allowed to stay on this site & under different categories.

You then reply "Dear Netibiza......." & you then allow this thread to remain, with the same answers that my thread received in Home & Garden from other AB users - which you banned?????

It's obviously 'have a go at Smudge' & nothing else!

(Neti - Thank you for your kind support anyway).

jno - you really don't need any lessons on how to put people down do you?

I realise mine & neti's questions might appear such  inane ones to you, but by the answers I/we received others didn't think so.

There are many other questions in the shopping category, etc., that won't be of interest to AB users Grandchildren in years to come, but that is what this site is supposed to be for isn't it - asking questions!

P.S. AB Ed - I see the question on "Toilet Paper going over or under" still remains - very odd!

jno - over here in Spain we get lots of tourists from all over the world and they are always asking what the weather is like back at home.  I'm not bothered but it's nice to be able to help them - and if it's raining in their home town and belting hot here - let them enjoy the knowlefde.  Who does it harm????

You leave my toilet paper question alone!  AB ed has already banned one of my questions today, if he bans another I'll start getting paranoid & think it's 'have a go at wally'

Calm down dear & enjoy the weather, whatever it's doing where you are.

Smudge, in all honesty I don't think jno meant to put you down.  He/she just made a fair comment about chatty threads in general.  I think that the editor has been very fair lately in letting most threads remain for a few days before getting rid of them and whoever the Ed is nowadays has a pretty good insight as to what we are like and what will work for the site in taking it forward.

27 degrees in North Norfolk.

Precisely neti.

Insane Wally - I actually particiapted in your humorous toilet roll thread! Fortunately, I haven't had many questions banned, but AB Ed does appear to have conflicting rules at times.

Anyway, it's lovely & sunny here in Dunstable & I'm flitting between the garden & AB.

Have a wonderful day EVERYONE!
