well , its your game ED.
Is that "it's your game but I'm taking my haggis and going home"? :)
HW,

ZZzzzzzzzzz
In a way I'm with Harry. If we never get told what we have done wrong, or why someone is banished without trial, what is the point. People will be more cautious if they know what is too close to the mark. If we dont really know the rules how can we stick to them?
the rules are actually pretty clear... and you may find you get the odd answer being removed or a thread that you start with iffy intent first if you are sailing a bit close to the edge... Its like a first unofficial warning sort of mums dirty look when you went to sneak a biscuit
I know what you're saying grass, but I think most people know what would be classed as being rude and aggressive.

Be good, don't try and start a fight with the editor?

Banning reasons are a different matter and something we're hoping to address in the not to distant future.

Why do you think we should have trials? This is a dictatorship, or, more recently, a theocracy: Ab Editor
Benign theocracy oh holy one
I seldom have any trouble seeing why people have been sidelined (the exception being ummmm). The rules are pretty clear. People did politely point out to HW that he was dicing with death.
Whilst I'm here, can I just ask... what is "cato"?
I know how to be polite cos I was brought up proper! Have never had anything removed, but I am left guessing what was the last straw that leads to a usually humorous and non agressive poster - not only to get banned - but to have every single last post removed going over many years. When they are useful stuff (and related to building work!) you never know when someone will go looking for what they had to say. I received a dodgy private car park "fine" and googled what I should do. It led me to a very comprehensive thread on answerbank actually posted a few years back which told me exactly what to do i.e. ignore it. While I know some people go to far, to me it does not make sense to disregard and scrap all the good posts they have ever posted.
:-)
I had a few removed... including a dodgy gnome post.... I understand why
Hence my devotion to the cult of Ab Editor...its penance...
there are dodgy gnomes around?
*What is cato*????
Cato's a Scottish name, so maybe it was a sort of code to check if the Ed was a Scot too, sort of like masons raising a trouser leg. Doesn't seem to have worked particularly.
I have an S and M gnome called Julian he's staying in a friends garden now as I only have a balcony he has a soldier friend in the gnome guard
Ah, I see. So he was trying to be clever/funny/amusing.... which all kind of backfired.

Actually, is ED Scottish?
I don't think so....I think he's a southerner.
is ed scottish. dont think so !
